Get rid of haz­ardous waste and elec­tron­ics

The Dutchess County Di­vi­sion of Solid Waste Man­age­ment will hold a House­hold Haz­ardous Waste Dis­posal & Elec­tron­ics Re­cy­cling Event from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Dutchess County Re­source Re­cov­ery Agency, 96 Sand Dock Road in the town of Pough­keep­sie.

The col­lec­tion is open to Dutchess County res­i­dents only. Pr­ereg­is­tra­tion is re­quired, and there is a $10 reg­is­tra­tion fee.

The fee can be paid online us­ing a credit card, or checks may be made payable to “Dutchess County Com­mis­sioner of Fi­nance” and mailed to or dropped off at the Dutchess County Di­vi­sion of Solid Waste Man­age­ment, 27 High St., Pough­keep­sie, N.Y. 12601.

Ac­cepted items in­clude TVs, mon­i­tors, phones, pes­ti­cides and pool chem­i­cals. A com­plete list is posted on the reg­is­tra­tion web­site.
