Un­beaten Kingston blanks Red Hook

Tigers im­prove record to 10-0-1 with 3-0 shutout of Raiders

Un­beaten Kingston High im­proved to 10-0-1 with a 3-0 shutout of Red Hook in a MidHud­son Ath­letic League field hockey match.

Brooke Gastin had a goal and an as­sist in the win. Makenna Sepesi and Mea­gan Gavis each had a goal, and Ab­bie May­one added an as­sist to lead the Tigers.

Kingston had 16 shots on goal, while the Tigers de­fense held the Raiders to none.

Abby Brocco and Journee Black­wood were in goal for Kingston, while Ju­lianna Schaf­frick had 15 saves in the loss for Red Hook.

Brit­tany Vasquez had two goals and an as­sist as the Lady Bush­men pre­vailed.

Vasquez scored the match’s first goal unas­sisted in the 14th minute and knocked in a sec­ond on a Lyn­d­sey Deretchin as­sist seven min­utes later to give Pine Bush a 2-0 edge at the half.

Lyn­d­sey Deretchin added a third on an Is­abella Pugliese as­sist nine min­utes into the sec­ond half, and He­len Deretchin put a fourth be­tween the posts on a Brit­tany Vasquez as­sist in the 28th minute of the sec­ond half in the win.

The (6-1-2, 5-1-1) Lady Bush­men dom­i­nated 18-2 in shots on goal. El­iz­a­beth Sch­wo­erer recorded 14 stops for the (0-5-3) Spar­tans.
