CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF?
Ulster BOCES Aviation students Michael Cappuccilli, of Wallkill High School, and Brandon Gill, of Kingston High School, perform a preflight inspection at Richmor Aviation in the town of Ulster recently. The Ulster BOCES Aviation program provides students with basic knowledge of equipment used in aviation. Successful completion of the two-year program, which includes flight time, allows students to be eligible for an FAA-approved private pilot’s license. The program focuses primarily on single-engine planes and includes instruction regarding meteorology, instrumentation, airplane systems, flight environment, communications, aircraft performance, human factors and the principles of flight.
