Class has tips to deal with in­va­sive plants

A free class, “In­va­sive Plants Clean-up for your Gar­den,” will be of­fered by the Cor­nell Co­op­er­a­tive Ex­ten­sion of Ul­ster County Master Gar­dener Pro­gram from 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 15 at the Xeriscape gar­den at SUNY Ul­ster, 491 Cot­tekill Road.

Regis­trants are in­vited to ar­rive at 9:45 am for a free tour of the Xeriscape gar­den and a new rain gar­den with master gar­dener Nordica Holochuck. Dur­ing this “Learn­ing in the Gar­den” mini-class, par­tic­i­pants will learn to iden­tify some in­va­sive weeds and the best way to com­pletely re­move and dis­card them and will wit­ness a demon­stra­tion with var­i­ous tools.

This class is ap­pro­pri­ate for gar­den­ers of any level and will take place rain or shine.
