Morse school hosts an­nual Mus­tang Bowl

SAUGER­TIES >> The an­nual Mus­tang Bowl touch foot­ball game will take place at Grant D. Morse Ele­men­tary School, 70 Harry Wells Road, at 1:30 p.m. Wed­nes­day, Oct. 19. The com­mu­nity is en­cour­aged to at­tend.

Stu­dents from Morse’s fifth and sixth grades will com­pete on the Mus­tangs and Pa­tri­ots teams for the “Green Ap­ples Cup.” The Pa­tri­ots have cap­tured the cup the last two years and lead the his­tory of the con­test seven games to five.

This year’s teams were se­lected Oct. 1 along with their stu­dent coaches who were cho­sen by nom­i­na­tions from the teach­ing staff and Prin­ci­pal Don Dieck­mann. The coaches are Ryan Cur­ran for the Mus­tangs and Maddy Dodig for the Pa­tri­ots.

Mus­tang Bowl XIII will be­gin with the tra­di­tional de­liv­ery of the game ball, a sur­prise kept un­der wraps un­til the start of the game. It will also fea­ture a half­time show, cheer­lead­ing, en­ter­tain­ment, live mu­sic, food trucks, and awards.
