Morse school hosts annual Mustang Bowl
SAUGERTIES >> The annual Mustang Bowl touch football game will take place at Grant D. Morse Elementary School, 70 Harry Wells Road, at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19. The community is encouraged to attend.
Students from Morse’s fifth and sixth grades will compete on the Mustangs and Patriots teams for the “Green Apples Cup.” The Patriots have captured the cup the last two years and lead the history of the contest seven games to five.
This year’s teams were selected Oct. 1 along with their student coaches who were chosen by nominations from the teaching staff and Principal Don Dieckmann. The coaches are Ryan Curran for the Mustangs and Maddy Dodig for the Patriots.
Mustang Bowl XIII will begin with the traditional delivery of the game ball, a surprise kept under wraps until the start of the game. It will also feature a halftime show, cheerleading, entertainment, live music, food trucks, and awards.
