Close-up on the Fed
The Federal Reserve releases on Wednesday the minutes of a two-day meeting of its policymakers last month.
At the meeting, the panel decided against raising short-term rates, but signaled that it will likely raise rates before year’s end. The central bank noted that the U.S. job market has continued to strengthen and economic activity has picked up. Still, the Fed added that inflation is too low and that it wants to see further job market improvement.
