News feed ‘Farm to School’ workshop at FDR site
HYDE PARK >> Miriam Latzer of Clermont’s Good Flavor Farm will present the benefits of communitysupported agriculture at a “Farm to School” workshop at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 15 in the Wallace Visitor & Education Center on the grounds of the FDR Home and Presidential Library & Museum on U.S. Route 9.
After the workshop, participants may join National Park Service educator Kayla Altland and horticulturist Anna deCordova for a tour of the Roosevelt home garden. The garden was paved over in the 1950s and is being redeveloped as part of the National Park Service centennial celebration. Altland and deCordova are developing education programs for the home garden.
The workshop and tour are free, but registration is required. The program is open to the public.
