Event offers tips on tax incentives for farmers
KINGSTON >> Farmers looking to learn more about the New York state Ag Assessment Program and other tax incentives are invited to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County, 232 Plaza Road, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 20.
The first step toward assessment of property is contacting the tax assessor, a press release said. At this class, Michael Dunham, tax assessor for the towns of Marbletown, Rochester and Rosendale, will provide information on the ag land tax assessment program.
Participants will find out how to participate in the program, what information assessors will need, how a reduction in taxes is determined and what types of activities qualify for the ag land tax assessment. This program is free, but space is limited. RSVP by Oct. 14 so organizers can plan for the number of attendees.
Contact Carrie at (845) 340-3990, ext. 311, or email email@example.com with the name, email and phone number of each person attending.
