Ethel M. Fer­gus­son, 81, of Kingston

KINGSTON >> Ethel M. Fer­gus­son, 81, of Kingston, N.Y., passed peace­fully Sun­day morn­ing, Oct. 9, 2016, at her res­i­dence, with her fam­ily by her side.

She was a grad­u­ate of Kingston High School, and for many years worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Hutton Nurs­ing Home. She then worked for Kingston City Schools Con­sol­i­dated as a bus mon­i­tor prior to her re­tire­ment.

She was a faith­ful mem­ber of New Cen­tral Bap­tist Church, she served on the trustee board, usher board, Pas­tor’s aide com­mit­tee, and was the Sun­day school sec­re­tary. She en­joyed read­ing, trav­el­ing, walk­ing and had been a mem­ber of Planet Fit­ness. Mrs. Fer­gus­son was a lit­er­acy vol­un­teer, and started the church break­fast club that met ev­ery Fri­day. She was a tire­less worker, al­ways will­ing to give of her­self.

Ethel was born Aug. 10, 1935, in Maryland and was the daugh­ter of the late Martina Jones.

She leaves to cher­ish her mem­ory, her hus­band Wosley Fer­gus­son, they wed on July 31, 1999; her daugh­ters, Jodi Jack­son and her hus­band Mark of Kingston and Natalie Arm­strong of Kingston; her grand­chil­dren, Mark A. Jack­son, Jr., Shane L. Jack­son, Hec­tor Pabon and Brit­tany Pabon; eight great-grand­chil­dren; her stepchil­dren, Dre­ana Mar­shall-Stu­art and her hus­band Hay­den Mar­shall, Toni Fer­gus­son, Donna Fer­gus­son, and Dawn Fer­gus­son; as well as a host of nieces and nieces and neph­ews and a God sis­ter He­len En­nist.

The Go­ing Home Ser­vice will be at the New Cen­tral Bap­tist Church on Fri­day, Oct. 14, 2016, at 12 p.m.

The fam­ily will re­ceive their friends at 10 to 12 p.m. on Fri­day, Oct. 14, 2016.
