Driver, 84, injured after car plunges down embankment
TOWN OF ULSTER >> An 84-year-old Kingston woman escaped serious injury after her car sideswiped another and then went down an embankment on Washington Avenue, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said late Tuesday.
At about 12:20 p.m. Saturday, Elaine Greenspan was eastbound on Washington Avenue when she sideswiped a vehicle driven by Daniel Foley, 29, of Kingston, who was making a left turn, police said.
After striking Foley’s vehicle, Greenspan’s vehicle went off the roadway, struck a guard rail and went down an embankment, according to a press release.
Greenspan was taken to the HealthAllliance Hospital Broadway Campus for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
Police did not report any other injuries, whether there were passengers in either vehicle, or if Greenspan was ticketed.
