Driver, 84, in­jured after car plunges down em­bank­ment

TOWN OF UL­STER >> An 84-year-old Kingston woman es­caped se­ri­ous in­jury after her car sideswiped an­other and then went down an em­bank­ment on Wash­ing­ton Av­enue, the Ul­ster County Sher­iff’s Of­fice said late Tues­day.

At about 12:20 p.m. Satur­day, Elaine Greenspan was east­bound on Wash­ing­ton Av­enue when she sideswiped a ve­hi­cle driven by Daniel Fo­ley, 29, of Kingston, who was mak­ing a left turn, po­lice said.

After strik­ing Fo­ley’s ve­hi­cle, Greenspan’s ve­hi­cle went off the road­way, struck a guard rail and went down an em­bank­ment, ac­cord­ing to a press re­lease.

Greenspan was taken to the HealthAl­l­liance Hos­pi­tal Broad­way Cam­pus for treat­ment of mi­nor in­juries, po­lice said.

Po­lice did not re­port any other in­juries, whether there were pas­sen­gers in ei­ther ve­hi­cle, or if Greenspan was tick­eted.
