Walk to De­feat ALS takes place Oct. 16

HIGH­LAND » The ALS As­so­ci­a­tion Greater New York Chap­ter will host the Eighth An­nual Walk to De­feat ALS fundraiser in the Hud­son Val­ley on Sun­day, Oct. 16, at 75 Hav­i­land Road on the west side of the Walk­way Over the Hud­son.

Check in is sched­uled at 9 a.m., an open­ing cer­e­mony is sched­uled at 10:30 a.m. and the walk is set to start at 11 a.m. The walk is wheelchair- and stroller-ac­ces­si­ble. Be­fore and after the walk, there will be fam­ily-friendly ac­tiv­i­ties such as face paint­ing, mu­sic, mas­cots, re­fresh­ments and other fun and games, or­ga­niz­ers said.

Pro­ceeds from the event will go to The ALS As­so­ci­a­tion Greater New York Chap­ter. The chap­ter serves pa­tients and fam­i­lies through­out the Hud­son Val­ley, New York City, Westch­ester County and else­where.
