The original high school building, built on Haviland Road, was dedicated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1940. It now serves as Haviland Middle School.

Guests and speakers will include U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson, R-Kinderhook, and David Roosevelt, grandson of Franklin Delano and Eleanor Roosevelt.

Roosevelt was instrumental in the design and building of the original high school. He said at the time, “We have faith in education as the foundation of democratic government.”
