Roosevelt’s Peters win MHAL individual crown
Jeff Peters of Roosevelt shot a 1-over-par 72 to win the MHAL’s individual golf championship.
Jeff Peters of Roosevelt shot a 1-over-par 72 to win the Mid-Hudson Athletic League’s individual golf championship Thursday at the MHAL’s qualifying tournament for next May’s Section 9 tourney. Peters won the event at Apple Greens by one stroke over Spackenkill’s Erik Stauderman and three over Onteora’s Justin Lane.
The top 20 plus ties qualified for the Section 9 tournament. In all 21 players made the cut at 91.
Eleven MHAL schools will be represented in sectionals.
Also qualifying were Red Hook’s Austin Lunstedt; Travis Hornbeck, Jeffrey Shaver and Branch Cranfield of Rondout Valley; Will Conti and Charles Benfer of Marlboro; Onteora’s Ori Grady; Kyle Doering of Wallkill; Nick Puleo and Jaxson Koebel-Secky of New Paltz; Saugerties’ Kieran Defino; Ryan Ackert, Zachary Cioffi and Ryan Lo of Spackenkill; Millbrook’s Tyler Schaad, Mitchell Wiemer and Pat Kyle;
plus Webutuck’s Ahmatik Jones.
