Talk on al­ter­na­tive forms of nu­clear power: 10 a.m. to noon. Uni­tar­ian Univer­sal­ist Con­gre­ga­tion of the Catskills, 320 Sawkill Road, Kingston. David Rolfe will be giv­ing a talk about al­ter­na­tive forms of nu­clear power that are much safer than cur­rent forms. Wa­ter-cooled nu­clear en­ergy has many prob­lems, mak­ing it un­suit­able as a long-term re­place­ment for fos­sil fu­els. Al­ter­na­tive de­signs, us­ing tho­rium and molten salt in­stead of ura­nium and wa­ter, are cur­rently be­ing pro­posed. The talk is free and open to the pub­lic.
