Dorothy Alexan­der, Ma­tri­arch, 99, of Wil­bur Av­enue, Kingston, died Fri­day, Oct. 7, 2016, at Health-Al­liance Hospi­tal Broad­way Cam­pus.

Born on Jan. 22, 1917, in Ker­honk­son, N.Y. she is the daugh­ter of the late Elt­ing and Rose (Krom) Church­well.

Dorothy was a seam­stress at The Coat Fac­tory, she was also a mem­ber of the In­ter­na­tional Ladies Gar­ment Union.

She was a great mother. Dorothy was an avid and dis­ap­pointed Mets Fan. She loved clas­sic coun­try western mu­sic, her flower gar­den and wildlife.

She is sur­vived by her son Douglas Alexan­der (Rhoda) of Rens­se­laer; two sis­ters Grace Fur­man of Penn­syl­va­nia and Kather­ine Kohloff of Mis­souri; her grand­chil­dren Michael, Nadine hus­band Joe, David, Cindy and Elaine. Also sur­viv­ing are many great-grand­chil­dren, great-great-grand­chil­dren, and many nieces and neph­ews.

She is pre­de­ceased by her hus­band Percy Alexan­der, her three sons, Philip, Richard, and De­nis Alexan­der.

Fu­neral ar­range­ments were un­der the guid­ance of the Joseph V. Leahy Fu­neral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Av­enue, Kingston. Ser­vices were held pri­vately at the fam­ily plot.
