Dorothy Alexander, 99, of Kingston
Dorothy Alexander, Matriarch, 99, of Wilbur Avenue, Kingston, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at Health-Alliance Hospital Broadway Campus.
Born on Jan. 22, 1917, in Kerhonkson, N.Y. she is the daughter of the late Elting and Rose (Krom) Churchwell.
Dorothy was a seamstress at The Coat Factory, she was also a member of the International Ladies Garment Union.
She was a great mother. Dorothy was an avid and disappointed Mets Fan. She loved classic country western music, her flower garden and wildlife.
She is survived by her son Douglas Alexander (Rhoda) of Rensselaer; two sisters Grace Furman of Pennsylvania and Katherine Kohloff of Missouri; her grandchildren Michael, Nadine husband Joe, David, Cindy and Elaine. Also surviving are many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Percy Alexander, her three sons, Philip, Richard, and Denis Alexander.
Funeral arrangements were under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston. www.jvleahyfh.com Services were held privately at the family plot.
