Williamson rushes Marlboro to victory
Junior Billy Williamson rushed for 239 yards and six touchdowns to power Marlboro High to a 59-3 victory over Highland in a Section 9, Class B Division I football game.
Williamson scored three TDs in each half of the annual Black and Blue Bowl as Marlboro churned up 601 yards offense on the ground.
Sophomore Eric Borchert had 121 yards on 13 carries, John Perugino ran eight times for 91, Paul Evans rushed for 89 yards and one TD on 11 attempts and Sam Mongelli scrambled 11 times for 81 as part of Marlboro’s attack. Myles Barrington also ran for a Duke touchdown.
Marlboro, which plays in the B quarterfinals next week, finished the regular season 3-1 in the division and 5-2 overall.
Perugino also had a big game. He had five catches for 101 yards
and also had two interceptions.
Mongelli threw for 87 yards before getting injured in the second quarter. Evans took over and passed for 56 yards.
Marlboro shut down (04, 2-5) Highland behind the play of Perugino, Barrington (11 tackles) Jack Young (two interceptions), Jayden Mianti (one pick) and Zach Atkins (12 tackles, one fumble recovery). Roosevelt 22, Middletown 21
At Middletown, Justin Guerrero scored on a touchdown run with 1:30 remaining and Jake Niesen scored on a 2-point conversion to lift (4-3) Roosevelt to a big comeback win over (3-4) Middletown in a Class A game.
Guerrero had two TDs
and E.J, Buddai ran for one to lead the Presidents.
Reggie Steed and Taj Ali both ran for TDs and Shane Rosa threw a scoring pass to Evan Roberts to give Middletown a first-quarter 21-7 lead. O’Neill 21 , Ellenville 0
At Highland Falls, Tiquan Scott ran for 137 yards and one touchdown, James Matuatia rushed for 55 and one TD and Luke Kilner threw for 126 yards and one score to lead (4-1, 6-1) James I. O’Neill to a Class B Division II victory over (05, 0-6) Ellenville. Cornwall 47, Wallkill 0
At Wallkill, Dom Marzigliano ran for 163 yards and four touchdowns, including a 44-yard scamper, to lead (4-0, 4-2) Cornwall to a Class A victory. Luciano Budd also had a big game for the Raiders with 80 yards and two TD runs.
Wallkill fell to 1-4 in Class A and 2-5 overall.
