SUNY Ul­ster of­fers equiv­a­lency test course

A course to help pre­pare stu­dents for the Test As­sess­ing Se­condary Com­pe­tency (TASC), which is needed to earn a high school equiv­a­lency diploma, will be of­fered at the Kingston Cen­ter of SUNY Ul­ster, 94 Mary’s Ave.

De­signed for stu­dents who did not grad­u­ate from high school but want a cer­tifi­cate equiv­a­lent to the tra­di­tional high school diploma, the pro­gram pro­vides in­struc­tion in lan­guage arts, writ­ing, read­ing, math, sci­ence and so­cial stud­ies.

The course also will fo­cus on pre­par­ing stu­dents for col­lege and as­sist those seek­ing en­roll­ment in a SUNY Ul­ster de­gree or cer­tifi­cate pro­gram. Classes meet Mon­days, Tues­days, Wed­nes­days and Thurs­days from Oct. 24 through Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Kingston Cen­ter of SUNY Ul­ster. The course fee is $20.
