Wil­helmina Mil­lie Hoppe, 82, of Glen­ford

GLEN­FORD >> Wil­helmina Mil­lie Hoppe, 82, of Glen­ford, passed peace­fully Sun­day, Oct. 16, 2016, at her res­i­dence, after a brief ill­ness.

She was born April 9, 1934, in Queens, the daugh­ter of the late Eric and Kate He­fkin Hoppe.

Mil­lie was a grad­u­ate of Kingston High School, Class of 1951, and SUNY Ul­ster, earn­ing her as­so­ciate’s de­gree as a reg­is­tered nurse. For 24 years, Mil­lie was an On­col­ogy nurse at Bene­dic­tine Hos­pi­tal in Kingston.

She was a mem­ber of the Coach House Play­ers, ap­pear­ing in many shows. Mil­lie sang in the in the Da­men­chor and en­joyed bal­let, of­ten do­ing vol­un­teer work for the Ul­ster County Bal­let. With her hus­band, she of­ten trav­eled to bal­lets and op­eras in New York City and Saratoga. She had a nat­u­ral way with an­i­mals, en­joyed trav­el­ing and was flu­ent in sev­eral lan­guages.

She is sur­vived her hus­band, Wil­liam E. “Bill” Hoppe, whom she wed on April 10, 1998; her son, Wal­ter Hoppe of New Paltz; and four step­sons, Ed­ward, Mar­shall, Wil­liam and Jack Hoppe.

She was pre­de­ceased by a sis­ter, Greta Hausen­flu.

En­trusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cre­ma­tion Ser­vice, 326 Al­bany Av­enue, Kingston. The fam­ily will re­ceive their friends on Wed­nes­day from 4 to 7 p.m. The ser­vice will be at 7 p.m.

The fam­ily sug­gests, in lieu of flow­ers, memo­rial con­tri­bu­tions to the Bene­dic­tine Health Foun­da­tion, 105 Mary’s Av­enue, Kingston, N.Y. 12401.
