Watershed Corp. offers free training
The Catskill Watershed Corporation will sponsor a free training day for planners and local officials on Nov. 4.
The training will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at American Legion Post #216, 903 Main St.
Workshops include: “Hot Button Issues,” which is an overview of some land uses local officials may find challenging; “Solar Energy Regulation,” which looks at the authority of local governments to regulate photovoltaic solar energy systems; and “Adaptive Reuses for White Elephants,” which looks at adaptive reuses for buildings such as former churches and armories.
To register for the training, which includes lunch, visit the meetings and events section of www.cwconline.org. These workshops may satisfy the fourhour annual training mandate for members of planning boards and zoning boards of appeal, with municipal approval.
