$15K re­ward of­fered in probe of Gap fire

Gap Inc. and the fed­eral Bureau of Al­co­hol, To­bacco, Firearms and Ex­plo­sives are of­fer­ing a re­ward of up to $15,000 for in­for­ma­tion lead­ing to the ar­rest and con­vic­tion of the per­son or per­sons re­spon­si­ble for the mas­sive fire Aug. 29 and 30 at Gap’s North­east Dis­tri­bu­tion Cen­ter on Mer­ritt Boule­vard in Fishkill.

ATF is of­fer­ing up to $7,500, and the cloth­ing re­tailer is match­ing that amount.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the fire con­cluded it was ar­son.

All tips will re­main con­fi­den­tial.

The fire in Build­ing 2 at the Gap site broke out late on Aug. 29 and burned past sun­rise on Aug. 30. No one was in­jured.

The build­ing that was dam­aged mea­sures 990,000 square feet. It was used for dis­tri­bu­tion of on­line or­ders.
