Li­brary hosts Día de Muer­tos pro­gram

WHAT: Día de Muer­tos pro­gram WHEN: Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. WHERE: Red Hook Pub­lic Li­brary, 7444 South Broad­way, Red Hook CON­TACT: Cel­e­brate Día de Muer­tos (Day of the Dead) by dec­o­rat­ing calav­eras at the li­brary. Adults and teens are wel­come to learn how to em­bel­lish tra­di­tional su­gar skulls used to dec­o­rate ofren­das, or al­tars, hon­or­ing the de­ceased. Alfeñique, or su­gar paste, skulls will be pro­vided to par­tic­i­pants. This pro­gram is free and open to those ages 13 years old or older. Reg­is­tra­tion is re­quested, and sup­plies are lim­ited.
