Hannah Sul­li­van’s record per­for­mance leads Marl­boro

Hannah Sul­li­van scored five goals and set a sin­gle-sea­son school record in the process Wed­nes­day to lead Marl­boro High to a 6-1 non-league girls soccer win over S.S. Se­ward.

Sul­li­van, who set the mark with 28 goals on the year, tal­lied four times in the first half, in­clud­ing three in a four-minute span late in the first half. She capped her day with an unas­sisted goal mid­way through the sec­ond half.

Lizzy Lofaro as­sisted on three of Sul­li­van’s goals and Joyce Ry­der set up an­other.

Vic­to­ria Fino com­pleted the scor­ing for (10-6) Marl­boro with 11 min­utes re­main­ing on Lili Pa­puli’s pass.

“The mid­field played well and the de­fense did a great job of keep­ing the play in the at­tack­ing half of the field,” Marl­boro coach Keith Walker said.

Athena Mous­takas had an unas­sisted goal that tied the match at 1-1 for (13-3) Se­ward mid­way through the first half.

Eliz Fino and Alyssa Macur were in goal for the Dukes, com­bin­ing for three saves. Sarah Wierzbicki stopped 15 shots for Se­ward.
