Sylvia C. Heaton, 80, of Kingston, died Wed­nes­day, Oct. 19, 2016, at Al­bany Med­i­cal Cen­ter.

Born in Sharon, Conn., she was a daugh­ter of the late Er­win and Lil­lian Shove Couse. Sylvia worked at IBM for over 30 years, and was a mem­ber of the Quar­ter Cen­tury Club. She later worked for Darm­stadt Over­head Doors, and was a mem­ber of the Town of Eso­pus United Methodist Church. She en­joyed clean­ing, bak­ing, cook­ing, and en­ter­tain­ing, and was open to ad­ven­ture. Sylvia lived, laughed and loved of­ten.

Sylvia is sur­vived by two daugh­ters, Lisa Heaton of Till­son and Gina Heaton of Kingston; one step­son, Jay Heaton and his wife Stephanie of New Paltz; and two broth­ers, Er­win (Punky) Couse of Ame­nia, N.Y., and Robert Lee Couse and his wife Brenda of Pine Plains, N.Y. One grand­son, Ali­jah Moli­nari, and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews also sur­vive. Sylvia was also sur­vived by her ex­tended fam­ily at the Town of Eso­pus United Methodist Church and the Bow­ery Dugout. Sylvia will be repos­ing at Simp­son-Gaus Fu­neral Home, 411 Al­bany Ave., Kingston, on Sun­day, Oct. 23, 2016, from noon to 4 p.m.

A fu­neral ser­vice will be con­ducted on Mon­day at 10 a.m. at the Town of Eso­pus United Methodist Church, with Pas­tor John Senkewich of­fi­ci­at­ing.

In­ter­ment will fol­low in Iron­dale Ceme­tery, Miller­ton, N.Y.

The fam­ily re­quests that memo­rial do­na­tions be made to the Town of Eso­pus United Methodist Church, 151 W. Main St., Port Ewen, N.Y. 12466.
