A bit of the region’s agrarian heritage will return to Frog Alley Park today for the fifth annual “Scarecrows at Frog Alley.”

The community event, featuring stylish scarecrows crafted by local artists, area businesses and community members, began in 2012.

Co-sponsored by the Friends of Historic Kingston and the Junior League of Kingston, this year’s event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the ruins of the Louw-Bogardus House on Frog Alley, adjacent to the city’s Wiltwyck Fire Station.

Members of the public are encouraged to join in and create their own scarecrows.

Artwork from area Kingston School District elementary schools will be on display and animals will be visiting from Forsyth Nature Center. For more information about the event, email scarecrowsatfrogal or call (646) 522-8558.
