Four accused of failure to provide support
KINGSTON >> Four Ulster County men were arrested this past week by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office as it participated in the 14th annual Domestic Violence Apprehension Detail, which was organized around the country by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon.
The event coordinates participating police agencies to execute warrants for family-related and child support offenses.
In Ulster, the four people arrested were:
• Jason Byrd, 34, of Kingston, charged with failure to obey a child support order. He was released on his own recognizance.
• Erick Lozano, 27, of Kingston. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $3,400 cash bail or $10,000 property bond.
• Anton Armstead, 32, of New Paltz, who was arrested on a bench warrant for non-support. He was released on his own recognizance.
• Enrique Plaza, 24, of Saugerties, who was arrested and charged with failure to obey a child support order. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $9,260 cash bail or $92,000 property bond.
Ulster deputies did not connect the local arrests to domestic violence offenses, for which the initiative is named.
All four men were arrested Oct. 19-20.
