Christo­pher P. Gallo, 83, of Kingston

KINGSTON >> Christo­pher P. “Chris” Gallo, 83, of Clifton Av­enue, Kingston, N.Y., died at Ten Broeck Com­mons Satur­day, Oct. 22, 2016. Born in East Kingston on Oct. 12, 1933, he was a son of the late Thomas and Cather­ine (Natale) Gallo.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Gallo served dur­ing the Korean War. He was the owner of The Mo­hi­can Mar­ket, lo­cated on John Street in up­town Kingston, from 1975 to 1998. He worked at the mar­ket since the age of 16, in­ter­rupted by his ser­vice in the Army, and then re­turned to work and even­tu­ally pur­chased the busi­ness. He was pre­vi­ously em­ployed by the Falls­burgh Bot­tling Works as a sales­man. Chris was an avid bowler and in­ducted into the Kingston Bowl­ing As­so­ci­a­tion Hall of Fame. He was a lov­ing grand­fa­ther and great grand­fa­ther.

Sur­viv­ing are four sons, Perry (Mar­got), Paul (Tr­isha), Peter (Sharon) and Pa­trick (Theresa); one daughter, Christina Boyle (Greg Pugliese); an aunt, Anna Ser­rav­ello; sis­ters-in­law, An­toinette Gallo, Ju­lia Gallo and Mil­lie Gallo; 13 grand­chil­dren and seven great­grand­chil­dren. His wife, Doris E. Gallo; daughter, Ann-Marie Snide; four broth­ers, Frank, An­thony, Louis, and Do­minick Gallo; as well as one sis­ter, Theresa Sch­langer, pre­de­ceased him.

The fam­ily is grate­ful to the staff of Ten Broeck Com­mons, HealthAl­liance Hos­pi­tal Emer­gency Room staff and the Kingston Fire Depart­ment.

Funeral ar­range­ments are un­der the guid­ance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh.com). Friends will be re­ceived a the funeral home Tues­day from 4 to 8 p.m. Inurn­ment will be pri­vate in St. Mary’s Ceme­tery.
