Joseph P. Bazzicalupo Sr., 91, of Saugerties
Joseph P. Bazzicalupo Sr., 91, of Saugerties, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at Golden Hill Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., Joseph was a son of the late Frank and Mary Bazzicalupo. He worked for the New York City water department for many years. Joseph served our country in the Navy as a Seaman Second Class during World War II. He enjoyed working around the house and loved spending time with his family. Joseph also loved animals, especially his cats. Joseph is survived by his wife, Mary Gerasia Bazzicalupo, and his son, Joseph Bazzicalupo of Saugerties. Two grandchildren, Christine Bazzicalupo and Amanda Bazzicalupo, both of Saugerties; three great-grandchildren, Sage Fusaro, Vincenzo Neglia and Angelo Neglia; three sisters, Antoinette, Doris, and Frances; one brother, Nick; as well as many nieces and nephews, also survive.
Besides his parents, Joseph was predeceased by two sisters, Anna and Susie, and four brothers, Lou, Paul, Al, and Frank.
Joseph will be reposing at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston, on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Father Bubel officiating.
Interment with Military Honors will follow in New Paltz Rural Cemetery.
