Fam­ily Ser­vices hosts trick-or-treat­ing event

WHAT: Trick-or-treat­ing event

WHEN: Mon­day, Oct. 31, from 3 to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Fam­ily Part­ner­ship Cen­ter, 29 North Hamil­ton St., Pough­keep­sie.

DE­TAILS: Fam­ily Ser­vices’ in con­junc­tion with its part­ners within the Fam­ily Part­ner­ship Cen­ter will host its fifth an­nual trick-or-treat­ing event to of­fer the com­mu­nity a safe place for fam­i­lies to bring their chil­dren to trick-or-treat. Chil­dren and their fam­i­lies are en­cour­aged to dress up in their fa­vorite cos­tumes and en­joy the fes­tiv­i­ties at the Fam­ily Part­ner­ship Cen­ter. Those who at­tend will be able to go through the whole build­ing col­lect­ing candy and other good­ies from all of the dif­fer­ent peo­ple and pro­grams. The trick-or-treat­ing bags will be pro­vided for the chil­dren. Ad­di­tional ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude pump­kin dec­o­rat­ing (pump­kins pro­vided). Cider dough­nuts and cider will be pro­vided on site dur­ing the event. There will also be a “Trunk-or-Treat” and K9 demon­stra­tion spon­sored by the City of Pough­keep­sie Po­lice De­part­ment. Chil­dren will be able to col­lect candy from the trunk of a pa­trol car, as well as see a K9 demon­stra­tion by Ace and his han­dler, Of­fi­cer Wil­liams. The Fam­ily Part­ner­ship Cen­ter is the host to many pro­grams and agen­cies in the com­mu­nity that of­fer ser­vices to peo­ple in need. The event will be held rain or shine. All chil­dren must be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult.
