Family Services hosts trick-or-treating event
WHAT: Trick-or-treating event
WHEN: Monday, Oct. 31, from 3 to 5 p.m.
WHERE: Family Partnership Center, 29 North Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie.
DETAILS: Family Services’ in conjunction with its partners within the Family Partnership Center will host its fifth annual trick-or-treating event to offer the community a safe place for families to bring their children to trick-or-treat. Children and their families are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes and enjoy the festivities at the Family Partnership Center. Those who attend will be able to go through the whole building collecting candy and other goodies from all of the different people and programs. The trick-or-treating bags will be provided for the children. Additional activities include pumpkin decorating (pumpkins provided). Cider doughnuts and cider will be provided on site during the event. There will also be a “Trunk-or-Treat” and K9 demonstration sponsored by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. Children will be able to collect candy from the trunk of a patrol car, as well as see a K9 demonstration by Ace and his handler, Officer Williams. The Family Partnership Center is the host to many programs and agencies in the community that offer services to people in need. The event will be held rain or shine. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
