Spotlight on housing

Daily Freeman (Kingston, NY) - - BUSINESS -

Economists anticipate that sales of new U.S. homes slowed in September for the second month in a row.

The Commerce Department is expected to report today that sales reached a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 600,000 units last month. That would be down from 609,000 in August. Despite that pullback, new home sales are running 20.1 percent higher through the first eight months of this year.
