JoAnne Hoffman, 85, of New Paltz
JoAnne Hoffman, 85, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Born July 28, 1931 in Muskogee, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Leslie and L. Louise Wittland Conkling and had resided in Woodstock for many years before moving to Stone Ridge and seven years ago to Woodland Pond in New Paltz.
JoAnne graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She had lived in many places in the Western part of the country, while her father worked for the construction department for the U.S. Indian Agency. She and her husband ran the Twin Gables Guest House in Woodstock until they retired to his family farm in Stone Ridge. She loved traveling and her beloved pets. She was faithful member of Christ the King Episcopal Church in Stone Ridge and sang in the choir.
She was predeceased by her son, Daryl Scott Hoffman.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Albert Hoffman; her daughter, Jeraldine Denise Hoffman and her husband Terrance Johnson of Dover, N.H.; her sister, Norma Jean Drake of Woodstock; a niece, Susan Louise Drake; and nephew, Gregory Owen Drake of Woodstock.
Visitation will be Sunday, 1 to 2 p.m., at Christ the King Church, 3021 Rte 213, Stone Ridge, (687-9414) followed by the Burial Service and inurnment in the church columbarium.
