Stronger growth?

Daily Freeman (Kingston, NY) - - BUSINESS -

Economists project that the U.S. economy’s rate of growth accelerated in the July-September quarter.

Growth, as measured by the gross domestic product, increased at a rate of 1.4 percent in the second quarter, aided by a pickup in business construction. That modest gain followed a weaker reading of 0.8 percent growth in the first quarter. Economists expect that the Commerce Department will report today that the nation’s GDP increased at a rate of 2.5 percent in the third quarter.
