Bike ride high­lights the Sawkill Creek

The Wood­stock Land Con­ser­vancy will host a “First Satur­days on the Trail” bi­cy­cle ride along the Sawkill Creek Satur­day, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The ride will make sev­eral stops, in­clud­ing the Cooper Lake dam, Bearsville Flats, the Comeau prop­erty and the Zena Corn­field.

Dur­ing the stops, rid­ers will learn about the life of the Sawkill Creek,its en­vi­ron­men­tal chal­lenges and its re­silience.

Kevin Smith, the chair­man of the Wood­stock Land Con­ser­vancy, will guide the trip.

Or­ga­niz­ers say that Cooper Lake will be the start­ing point for the ride.

Reser­va­tions for the ride are re­quired by email­ing Karined.wlc@gmail. com by Nov. 3.

Par­tic­i­pants will park at Cooper Lake.

The Wood­stock Land Con­ser­vancy will of­fer a car ride for the cy­clists who wish to get back from the Zena Corn­field to Cooper Lake.
