Richard L. Warr, 71, of Saugerties

Richard L. Warr died Satur­day, Oct. 29, 2016, at home. He was 71 years old.

Born July 24, 1945, at St. Barabas Hospi­tal in Ne­wark, N.J., he was the son of Everett and Martha Warr.

His wife, Karen, died July 18, 2005.

He grad­u­ated from Hun­ter­don Re­gional High School and In­dus­trial Man­age­ment In­sti­tute.

A re­tired ma­chin­ist from LaDolce Ma­chin­ery, he held a bachelor’s de­gree in busi­ness. His pas­sion was au­to­mo­biles, both driv­ing and work­ing on them. Green Acres was a thriv­ing small en­gine re­pair shop that he op­er­ated in Blue Moun­tain. He was also a mem­ber of the Saugerties Elks club.

Sur­vivors in­clude three chil­dren, Tammy Drost of Saugerties, Richard Warr Jr. and his wife Stacy of Kerhonkson, and Jon Warr of Saugerties; his grand­chil­dren Cody and Ken­dall Drost; and his sib­lings Frank Warr, Rober Warr, and Gail Braun. In ad­di­tion to his wife, he was pre-de­ceased by his sis­ter Kathy Burns Ab­bi­ate.

A Fu­neral Ser­vice will be held 6 p.m. Wed­nes­day, Nov. 2, 2016, at Buono Fu­neral Ser­vice, Inc., Saugerties, N.Y.
