· Weapon: Francis Carey, 39, of the town of Ul­ster, pleaded guilty Fri­day be­fore Judge Donald A. Wil­liams to felony crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of a weapon. On Feb. 23, 2016, at 3:30 a.m., Carey was stopped by Kingston po­lice in the area of North Front Street and Wash­ing­ton Av­enue and was charged with two felony counts of crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of a weapon and with pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana, a mis­de­meanor. A “sub­stan­tial amount of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion, mar­i­juana and pack­ag­ing” was found in Carey’s ve­hi­cle af­ter of­fi­cers stopped him for driv­ing with a sus­pended reg­is­tra­tion, po­lice said at the time. At the time of his ar­rest, Carey was in vi­o­la­tion of con­di­tions of pa­role, cur­few and drink­ing al­co­hol, ac­cord­ing to the of­fice of the Ul­ster County Dis­trict At­tor­ney. Carey’s sen­tenc­ing is sched­uled on Jan. 10, 2017.
