· Weapon: Francis Carey, 39, of the town of Ulster, pleaded guilty Friday before Judge Donald A. Williams to felony criminal possession of a weapon. On Feb. 23, 2016, at 3:30 a.m., Carey was stopped by Kingston police in the area of North Front Street and Washington Avenue and was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon and with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. A “substantial amount of 9mm ammunition, marijuana and packaging” was found in Carey’s vehicle after officers stopped him for driving with a suspended registration, police said at the time. At the time of his arrest, Carey was in violation of conditions of parole, curfew and drinking alcohol, according to the office of the Ulster County District Attorney. Carey’s sentencing is scheduled on Jan. 10, 2017.
