Woman who died in fire was retired Marlboro teacher
MIDDLE HOPE >> A retired elementary school teacher for the Marlboro Central School District in southern Ulster County has been identified as the victim of a house fire in the Middle Hope section of the town of Newburgh.
The two-alarm fire Friday evening destroyed the house at 133 Oak St. in the Orange County town and claimed the life of resident Eunice
Her identity was confirmed through an autopsy performed by the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Byczek was described by a family member as a “loving aunt.” She had no children.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Tuesday.
