The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
· Shoplifting: Justin J. Parker, 31, and Kimberly Brand, 27, both of Poughkeepsie, were arrested by state police at Rhinebeck on Oct. 12 and again on Oct. 22 on related charges. On Oct. 12, Parker and Brand were both charged with petit larceny. On Oct. 22, they wee charged with offering a false instrument for filing, a felony. On Oct. 12, Parker, was alleged to have stolen more than $580 worth or razors, shaving cream and other over-the-counter medications from the Tops Supermarket in Rhinebeck, and Brand, was alleged to have stolen $989 worth of merchandise from the store, police said. A subsequent investigation found that Parker and Brand had provided police with fictitious names to hide their true identities; Parker identified himself as Sean Gillen and Brand identified herself as Jenna Brezovsky, police said. They were both then charged on Oct. 22 with offering a false instrument for filing, a felony. Several days later, police learned that Brand and Parker were being held at the Dutchess County Jail on unrelated charges, police said. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in Rhinebeck Town at a later date.
· Drugs: Nicholas M. Edwards, 26, of Tillson, was arrested by state police at Ulstsr at 3:32 P.M. Monday at 8 Tillson Road, Rosendale, and charged with the misdemeanors of possession of a controlled substance and false inspection certificate, and with four traffic infractions. Edwards was released with a ticket for Rosendale Town Court.
