The fol­low­ing items are based on in­for­ma­tion pro­vided by of­fi­cials in law en­force­ment and the crim­i­nal jus­tice sys­tem.


· Sho­plift­ing: Justin J. Parker, 31, and Kim­berly Brand, 27, both of Pough­keep­sie, were ar­rested by state po­lice at Rhinebeck on Oct. 12 and again on Oct. 22 on re­lated charges. On Oct. 12, Parker and Brand were both charged with pe­tit lar­ceny. On Oct. 22, they wee charged with of­fer­ing a false in­stru­ment for fil­ing, a felony. On Oct. 12, Parker, was al­leged to have stolen more than $580 worth or ra­zors, shav­ing cream and other over-the-counter med­i­ca­tions from the Tops Su­per­mar­ket in Rhinebeck, and Brand, was al­leged to have stolen $989 worth of mer­chan­dise from the store, po­lice said. A sub­se­quent in­ves­ti­ga­tion found that Parker and Brand had pro­vided po­lice with fic­ti­tious names to hide their true iden­ti­ties; Parker iden­ti­fied him­self as Sean Gillen and Brand iden­ti­fied her­self as Jenna Bre­zovsky, po­lice said. They were both then charged on Oct. 22 with of­fer­ing a false in­stru­ment for fil­ing, a felony. Sev­eral days later, po­lice learned that Brand and Parker were be­ing held at the Dutchess County Jail on un­re­lated charges, po­lice said. Both sus­pects are sched­uled to ap­pear in Rhinebeck Town at a later date.


· Drugs: Nicholas M. Ed­wards, 26, of Till­son, was ar­rested by state po­lice at Ul­stsr at 3:32 P.M. Mon­day at 8 Till­son Road, Rosendale, and charged with the mis­de­meanors of pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance and false in­spec­tion cer­tifi­cate, and with four traf­fic in­frac­tions. Ed­wards was re­leased with a ticket for Rosendale Town Court.
