Kingston advances to sectional semifinals
Tigers net 9th straight victory to earn berth in Section 9 semifinals
Kingston High’s volleyball won its ninth match in a row and advanced to the Section 9, Class AA semifinals with a sweep of Roosevelt at Kate Walton Field House.
The third-seeded Tigers won 25-15, 25-19, 25-7 to earn the right to play at No. 2 Pine Bush in today’s 6 p.m. semis. In today’s other semifinal, No. 5 Monroe-Woodbury travels to play No. 1 Minisink Valley.
Semifinal winners play for the championship Sunday at Mount Saint Mary College.
Tori Boulay (22 assists, four aces, five digs), Suzy Boulay (12 digs, two kills, one block, one assist), Jaid Harrell (10 kills, one block, two digs) and Tori Ost (seven digs, two kills, three aces, one assist) paced the (12-5) Tigers.
Also with key contributions for Kingston were Grace Longendyke (five kills, one block, one assist), Shannon Bonewit (five kills, one dig), Sydney Jankowski (four kills, two digs), Ashly Costello (five digs, one ace) and Ashley Hintz (four digs).
Lourdes Dawson (six kills, six digs, one block), Megan Kelly (11 assists) and Gianna Felipe (five assists, four digs) paced Roosevelt.
Kingston’s Tori Ost had seven dugs, two kills, three aces and one assist in Tigers’ sweep of Roosevelt in Tuesday’s Section 9 semifinal.
