Kingston store earns accolades from state

Daily Freeman (Kingston, NY) - - OBITUARIES -

The Sav-On Party Central store at Kingston Plaza is among 47 businesses across New York to be honored by the state Education Department for employing individuals with disabilities.

The honors coincide with National Disability Employment Awareness Month, state Education Commissioner Mary-Ellen Elia said Wednesday.

“New York values the diverse talents of all of its citizens, and together with these businesses, we are focusing on eliminating unacceptable employment gaps for people with disabilities,” state Board of Regents Chancellor Betty Rosa said in a press release.

“With support and awareness, we can help individuals be successful at work and celebrate their contributions and the businesses that employ them,” Rosa said.
