NEWBURGH >> A Hopewell Junction woman has been arrested after meeting with an undercover police officer who arranged to meet her at a town of Newburgh gas station for sex in exchange for money, according to the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team said.
Alexa M. Stefanchik, 25, was being sought by police after being arrested on Sept. 4 for prostitution in New Paltz. In September, Stafanchik gave arresting officers false identification and then failed to appear for in court to answer the charge.
On Tuesday evening, police said, Stefanchik arrived to meet the undercover officer and, after a struggle, was subdued with a Taser and arrested on the New Paltz prostitution charge, a misdemeanor.
