Ellen J. Kleinert, 91, of Saugerties
Ellen J. Kleinert, 91, of Simmons Street, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at the Golden Hill Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born Nov. 13, 1924, in Fort Wayne, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Amber Motz. An area resident since 1968, she was a former resident of Detroit. She was an active member of the Saugerties Atonement Lutheran Church, the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the Women’s Club of Saugerties, the Merry Mixers Craft Club, and volunteered at The Well in Saugerties.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Linda) and David Kleinert; four daughters: Cheryl Highstreet, Julie (Tom) Clapper, Jeanne (Rick) Vickery and Lisa (Carl) Relyea; daughter-in-law, Michaele Wendell; and one sister, Julia Hollis. Fifteen grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Kleinert, in 1982; her son, Michael Kleinert; son-inlaw, Andy Highstreet; sister, Mary Lou Trump; daughter-in-law, Cathy Kleinert; and grandson, Bradford Lee.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Atonement Lutheran Church, Market Street, Saugerties. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday from 2to4and7to9p.m.at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette streets. The family suggests donations in her memory be made to God Given Bread, 100 Market St., Saugerties.
