AG’s of­fice cre­ates Elec­tion Day hot­line

State At­tor­ney Gen­eral Eric T. Sch­nei­der­man’s of­fice has cre­ated a hot­line to help re­solve is­sues en­coun­tered by vot­ers at the polls in Tues­day’s gen­eral elec­tion.

Vot­ers ex­pe­ri­enc­ing prob­lems at the polls may call the of­fice’s hot­line at (800) 771-7755 or email at any time on Tues­day be­tween 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.

All reg­is­tered New York­ers are el­i­gi­ble to vote in the up­com­ing gen­eral elec­tion, re­gard­less of party af­fil­i­a­tion. Vot­ers can check their regis­tra­tion sta­tus on­line at https:// voter­lookup.elec­tions.

Ad­di­tion­ally, the Board of Elec­tions must pro­vide vot­ers with pro­vi­sional or af­fi­davit bal­lots when they ar­rive at the right poll site, but can­not find their name in the poll book. Ev­ery poll site in the state will be open from 6 a.m. un­til 9 p.m.

The state At­tor­ney Gen­eral’s Of­fice has op­er­ated the hot­line since Novem­ber 2012.
