Doris VanWart, 89, of Sauger­ties

Doris VanWart, 89, of Kings High­way, died Sun­day, Nov. 6, 2016, at the Golden Hill Health Re­lated Fa­cil­ity.

Born June 2, 1927, in Sauger­ties, she was the daugh­ter of the late John and Jen­nie Legg. A life­time area res­i­dent, she was em­ployed as a seam­stress at sev­eral lo­cal area dress fac­to­ries.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Floyd. Sur­vivors in­clude one daugh­ter, Deb­o­rah (Larry) Tome of Sauger­ties; and one son, Thomas (De­bra) VanWart of Kingston; two brothers: Fred Legg of Sauger­ties and Ber­tram Legg of Vir­ginia; and three sis­ters: He­len Bensen, Mary Winchell and Shirley Rose. Five grand­chil­dren, six great-grand­chil­dren and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews also sur­vive.

She was pre­de­ceased by a son, John VanWart, and four brothers: Ernest, Vin­cent, John and Eu­gene Legg.

Her funeral ser­vice will be held at 10 a.m. Thurs­day at Sea­mon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., cor­ner of John and Lafayette streets. In­ter­ment will fol­low in Moun­tain View Ceme­tery. Friends will be re­ceived Wed­nes­day from 2to4and7­to9p.m.
