Lopez wins sixth term without opposition
State Assemblyman Peter Lopez coasted to a sixth two-year term in his uncontested bid for re-election in New York’s 102nd Assembly District.
Lopez received 41,609 votes.
Lopez, R-Schoharie, has said the failure to enact ethics reform “is a disgrace to every citizen” of New York, and he has listed his other priorities as tax relief for workers, support for small farms and businesses, creating jobs, securing energy independence, ending unfunded mandates and promoting quality public education.
Lopez first was elected to the Assembly in 2006.
The 102nd Assembly District includes all of Greene and Schoharie counties; parts of Otsego, Delaware and Albany counties; and the towns of Saugerties in Ulster County and Stockport and Stuyvesant in Columbia County.
