Vot­ers ap­prove longer terms

Res­i­dents have ap­proved two propo­si­tions that increase term lengths for town su­per­vi­sor and high­way su­per­in­ten­dent from two years to four.

The su­per­vi­sor term increase was ap­proved 2,962-2,113 on Tues­day, while the high­way su­per­in­ten­dent term increase was OK’d by a 2,620-2,458 tally.

Su­per­vi­sor Neil Bet­tez, in the first year of a two-year term, ear­lier this year said the ad­di­tional time in of­fice would al­low projects to move for­ward with­out be­ing hin­dered by re-elec­tion cam­paigns.
