Vil­lage will host hol­i­day mar­kets

The 20-week Ellenville Farm­ers’ Mar­ket sea­son went so well that the vil­lage has ap­proved a plan to stage a sea­son of six Sun­day hol­i­day mar­kets in Ellenville, cov­er­ing Thanks­giv­ing, Hanukkah and Christ­mas.

The events will take place at the same out­door Cen­ter-Mar­ket Street site as the farm­ers’ mar­ket and will run from noon to 4 p.m. Sun­days from Nov. 13 through Dec. 18. Or­ga­niz­ers said gen­eral li­a­bil­ity in­sur­ance is in place to cover ven­dors and cus­tomers.

The Ellenville Hol­i­day Mar­ket will fea­ture lo­cal ven­dors of gifts and crafts, with a lesser em­pha­sis on fruits and veg­eta­bles. WIC and se­niors checks will ac­cepted through Novem­ber. Aroma Thyme Bistro will pro­vide hot soup and the mar­ket will of­fer gift bas­kets on be­half of Tony & Nick’s Ital­ian Kitchen, and a Christ­mas trees from a lo­cal ven­dor. En­ter­tain­ment is planned.

Lo­cal spon­sors are be­ing sought to cover the costs of signs. Fold­ing ta­bles are also needed for lo­cally pro­duced crafts.
