County ex­ec­u­tive plans bud­get fo­rums

Dutchess County Ex­ec­u­tive Marc Moli­naro will host a se­ries of town hall fo­rums on his pro­posed 2017 county bud­get.

Moli­naro will pro­vide an over­view of his pro­posed spend­ing plan, en­gage in a dis­cus­sion about the pro­posed bud­get and lis­ten to is­sues of im­por­tance to those at­tend­ing.

In Oc­to­ber, Moli­naro un­veiled a $467 mil­lion spend­ing plan would increase spend­ing less than 1 per­cent, cut prop­erty taxes slightly, and in­cludes ad­di­tional fund­ing for tourism pro­mo­tion, eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment, ex­panded pub­lic tran­sit from six to seven days per week, farm­land pro­tec­tion funds, re­brand­ing the Dutchess County Air­port as Hud­son Val­ley Re­gional Air­port and cre­at­ing an Avi­a­tion Main­te­nance Ed­u­ca­tion Cen­ter at Dutchess Com­mu­nity Col­lege.

In North­ern Dutchess, Moli­naro will host a fo­rum at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Wil­cox Me­mo­rial Town Hall, state Route 199, Milan.
