Group that fights home­less­ness to meet

The Ul­ster County Con­tin­uum of Care, a con­sor­tium of agencies re­spon­si­ble for de­vel­op­ing strate­gies to re­duce and end home­less­ness is Ul­ster County, is hold­ing its an­nual meet­ing from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at The Kirk­land, 2 Main St.

The an­nual meet­ing will in­clude a dis­cus­sion called “Ini­tia­tives to Re­duce Home­less­ness in Ul­ster County.”

The con­sor­tium mem­ber­ship also will fill va­can­cies on its Board of Di­rec­tors.

The con­sor­tium com­prises lo­cal gov­ern­ment; non­prof­its; home­less hous­ing and ser­vice providers; lo­cal elected of­fi­cials; vet­er­ans’ groups; and faith-based, for-profit and ed­u­ca­tion rep­re­sen­ta­tives.

The group as­sists, ad­vo­cates for and works with the home­less in Ul­ster County and is re­spon­si­ble for an an­nual fund­ing ap­pli­ca­tion to the U.S. De­part­ment of Hous­ing and Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment.
