Vi­ola Bev­eridge Cole, 86, of New Paltz

Vi­ola Cole, 86, an 18-year res­i­dent of New Paltz, for­merly of Sauger­ties, passed away peace­fully on Nov. 9 at Moun­tain­view Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion & Nurs­ing Home in New Paltz.

Vi­ola had many in­ter­ests in her life. She was a home­maker, an an­tiques dealer, a Girl Scout leader who re­ceived her 50-year pin, and was ac­tive in New Paltz United Methodist Church. On Sept. 15, 1949, she mar­ried Charles Richard Cole, who pre­de­ceased her on Aug. 8, 2011. She was also pre­de­ceased by her brother, Paul Bev­eridge, and sis­ter, Diana Fishel.

Vi­ola is sur­vived by four chil­dren, Jan­nette Car­cich and her hus­band John of New Paltz, N.Y.; Nancy Doty and her part­ner of Saratoga Springs, Wyo., Richard Cole and his wife Gretchen of Earl­ton, N.Y.; and Thomas Cole and his wife Caroline of Grafton, Mass.

Also sur­viv­ing are her eight lov­ing grand­chil­dren, Christo­pher Car­cich, Keri Car­cich, Phoebe Cole, Jeremiah Cole, Jenny Doty, John Doty, Luke Doty and Christina Doty. She also leaves be­hind nine great­grand­chil­dren.

Also sur­viv­ing are her sis­ter, Anita An­der­son, of Manas­sas, Va., as well as nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews. As per her wishes, there will be no call­ing hours; cre­ma­tion has taken place. A me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held on Satur­day, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at New Paltz United Methodist Church.
