Viola Beveridge Cole, 86, of New Paltz
Viola Cole, 86, an 18-year resident of New Paltz, formerly of Saugerties, passed away peacefully on Nov. 9 at Mountainview Rehabilitation & Nursing Home in New Paltz.
Viola had many interests in her life. She was a homemaker, an antiques dealer, a Girl Scout leader who received her 50-year pin, and was active in New Paltz United Methodist Church. On Sept. 15, 1949, she married Charles Richard Cole, who predeceased her on Aug. 8, 2011. She was also predeceased by her brother, Paul Beveridge, and sister, Diana Fishel.
Viola is survived by four children, Jannette Carcich and her husband John of New Paltz, N.Y.; Nancy Doty and her partner of Saratoga Springs, Wyo., Richard Cole and his wife Gretchen of Earlton, N.Y.; and Thomas Cole and his wife Caroline of Grafton, Mass.
Also surviving are her eight loving grandchildren, Christopher Carcich, Keri Carcich, Phoebe Cole, Jeremiah Cole, Jenny Doty, John Doty, Luke Doty and Christina Doty. She also leaves behind nine greatgrandchildren.
Also surviving are her sister, Anita Anderson, of Manassas, Va., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. As per her wishes, there will be no calling hours; cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at New Paltz United Methodist Church.
