Se­nior groups list meet­ing sched­ules

Kingston Chap­ter No. 2039 of AARP will meet Wed­nes­day, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. at Esopus Town Hall, 284 Broad­way.

The guest speaker will be Dora Mar­shall. She will talk about vi­sion loss.

The next ex­ec­u­tive board meet­ing will take place Fri­day, Dec. 2, at 1 p.m. at Esopus Town Hall.

The group’s Christ­mas Party will take place Thurs­day, Dec. 8, at The Best Western, 503 Wash­ing­ton Ave., Kingston. The event will start at noon with a cash bar and lunch at 12:30 p.m. Reser­va­tions must be made by Dec. 1. The cost of the lunch is $32 per per­son.

The fol­low­ing trips for 2017 are sched­uled:

• April 12, “Those Fab­u­lous ‘50s” at The Royal Manor. The bus will leave Kingston Plaza at 8:30 a.m. Take a trip back to the fab­u­lous days and nights of the 1950s. There will be a fam­ily-style menu with two com­pli­men­tary drinks. The cost is $86 per per­son.

• May 18, Guided tour of West Point.

The bus leaves Kingston Plaza at 8:30 a.m. In­cludes lunch at the Ho­tel Thayer and a nar­rated cruise on the Hud­son River.

The cost is $128 per per­son.

More trips are avail­able. All day trips must be paid in full at the time peo­ple sign up. All overnight trips re­quire a $100 de­posit per per­son.

The Town of Ulster Se­nior Club will meet Thurs­day, Nov. 17, at the Town of Ulster Se­nior Cen­ter, 1 Town Hall Drive.

Re­fresh­ments will be served at 12:30 p.m. The meet­ing will be­gin at 1 p.m.

The meet­ing will in­clude the an­nual nom­i­na­tion and elec­tion of of­fi­cers for 2017.

In ad­di­tion, fi­nal plans will be made for the club’s Christ­mas Party. Be­cause the group will not meet on Thanksgiving Day, this will be its last meet­ing be­fore the party. Members need to make their reser­va­tions by Dec. 1.

The group’s meet­ings are a time for friend­ship, so­cial­iza­tion and the shar­ing of ideas. New members are al­ways wel­come.

Af­ter the meet­ings, those who wish to stay can play bingo.

The Board of Man­agers of the Hud­son Val­ley Se­nior Res­i­dence will meet Thurs­day, Nov. 17, at 9:30 a.m. at the res­i­dence at 80 Wash­ing­ton Ave.

Those plan­ning to at­tend are asked to re­mem­ber to bring home­made cookies that will be dis­trib­uted to each res­i­dent dur­ing the tra­di­tional Thanksgiving visit.

The meet­ing will fol­low at 10:30 a.m., af­ter which at­ten­dees will ad­dress in­vi­ta­tions for the De­cem­ber Open House.

Those un­able to at­tend are asked to no­tify Anna Mae Knowles.

The Wood­stock Se­nior Cit­i­zens Club will meet Thurs­day, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. at Wood­stock El­e­men­tary School, 8 West Hurley Road.

The school will serve a tur­key lun­cheon for se­niors who live in the sur­round­ing area.
