‘Museums for All’ initiative begins today

Daily Freeman (Kingston, NY) - - COMMUNITY -

Today, the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum will launch “Museums for All”, an initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which increases access to the museum through a reduced admission fee of $2 when an Electronic Benefit Transfer card and picture ID is presented.

“Museums for All” helps to assure that all families can visit the museum and have access to early learning opportunities for their young children. It is part of the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum’s broad commitment to seek, include and welcome all, according to a press release.

Almost universally, for children from low-income families, access to the types of early experiences that lead to academic success are rare.

The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.mhcm.org or call (845) 471-0589.
